Worst Baby Names

By Julie Takamatsu

Hooray! Just heard the new the other day, as my high school classmate proudly announce on Facebook that she is pregnant with her 2nd child. There was a ultra sound picture along with her message as the good wishes came pouring in. My friend nicknamed her baby “peanut.” It made me chuckle for a bit as we all have nickname from family members, friends and even spouse. I mean, my name is rather simple. Julie. I've been called Jules, Juliet, Julia, Juli, Joely, July, Jufi and the most famous one is Jujube. Jujube is a candied dried fruit that is often used to sweetened tea or can be eaten as a snack. Guess my friend were pretty creative in coming up with such a sweet name. Nah! They were probably trying to tease me, but too bad, it didn't worked.

I am shocked and surprised when I read of what parents name their kids now-a-day. In China, a parent named their child "@". The symbol we often used in a e-mail address or to tell someone of our location. And we have another set of parents in New Zealand that named their little girl “Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.” That sure is one long name. Luckily, the Judge sided with the little girl and she was able to changed her name immediately. Imagine growing up with a name like that. Unfortunately, there are a handful of people on this planet that have odd names and are not able to changed it. When thinking of a name, also consider the middle and last name too. The first name might sound cool, but putting the last name together might mean something totally different as in the examples below.

According to source, here some interesting names:

Abbie Birthday (Happy Birthday)
Adam Meway (Out of my way)
Alex Blaine Layder (I'll explain later)
Candice B. Fureal (Can this be for real)
Denny Juan Heredatt (Did anyone hear that?)
Huang Annsaw (Wrong answer)
Renee Sance (Renaisance)
Sam Urai (Samurai)
Winnie Dipoo (Winnie the Pooh)

And the names of some celebrity's kids from source:

Pilot Inspektor (Jason Lee)
Moxie CrimeFighter (Penn Jillette)
Kal-El (Nicolas Cage)
Audio Science (shannyn Sossamon)
Bandit (Gerard Way)
Jeremajesty (Jermaine Jackson)
Sage Moonblood (Sylvester Stallone)
Memphis Eve (Bono)

You really have to wonder what people are thinking, when they burden their child with a name that the child is certain to hate.
Thank you for sharing, Julie.
Best wishes.

Hi Frederick,
You welcome .
**Nod** Don't know what some parents are thinking when they name their kids.

I have run into a few interesting names.

We had the Claus family where I grew up who named their daughter Santa which she changed the sound of it to Saunta. Of course what could you expect from a father named Chris. Fortunately she finally got married.

I met a Jehovah's Witness once with the name Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith of course was the first prophet of the Mormons.
They told me that was nothing. One of the Jehovah's Witnesses was named Mary Christmas.

I have a nephew with the first name Jack and middle name Daniels.

And of course not to forget the woman who thought the hospital had named her daughter Female because that was the "name" on her hospital bracket.

Or the couple who had a girl's name picked out and realized on the way to the hospital that it might be a boy so they decided on a name and later Justin Case was born.

Apparently, some people aren't thinking which is why they are having an unexpected child in the first place.

Hello
Haha! Thanks for sharing.

That is such a sweet photo. I think people's names should be temporary until they reach an age of reason and then they should be able to choose their own! I changed mine as soon as it was legal to do so, because I hated the names my parents gave me.

Hello
Thanks. I agreed. Wish our state government would allow us the options to change our names without a huge fee. It cost around $500 in Hawaii to change your name and you need to go to court a few times. Isn't that crazy?

I am all for creative naming of your children but some of these names you have to wonder....

One time we were out of town for an ice hockey tournament.

The whole team went to a fancy restaurant for breakfast.

My son ordered a Pitcher of orange juice. He drank the whole pitcher himself and then ordered another one. It costs me more than the price of three breakfasts.

After that his teammates changed his name to OJ.

Changing your name can be healthy as long as you have someone else paying for it.

I read recently that parents who give a child such an "outlandish" name are very narcissistic. That said, those are some pretty funny names.
