There are two type of dance – the International Standard and the International Latin. The International Standard Dances are Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Fortrot and Quickstep. While the International Latin Dances are Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. In addition to these dances, there is also the American Style Dances that consist of Mambo, Salsa and East/West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop. Most of the American Style are dance in Nightclub around the United States and in Canada. It used to be a leisure activity for the well-to-do, but today has been enjoyed by millions of people from different background, age group and economic brackets. Ballroom dancing convey a form of richness, luxury, elegance and grace. Ballroom is definitely spicing up people's lives. And remember, ballroom dancing is meant to be enjoyed so have fun. Mingle with other people and ask someone special for a dance. Enjoy!

I think that I would love ballroom dancing. Of course I have two left feet, but.... The tango is oh so sexy to watch when it's done well.

Hi James, Yes. It is. Ballroom dancing is really fun. Why not give it a try. Trust me, I have 2 left feet too. Hehe.
I can remember my mother and her girlfriend going ballroom dancing back in the 1950. People didn't sit home, glued to their electronics as they do today. Maybe that's why they weren't so fat then!!! Thanks for sharing and bringing back the memories. Best wishes. Frederick

Hi Frederick, Glad you enjoyed reading the article. Besides your mother and her girlfriends, do you ballroom dance too?
Hi Julie, In my younger days, I did a lot of Western Dancing. I haven't tried ballroom dancing, but maybe it could be added to our exercise routines. Best to you. Frederick

Hi Frederick, You should definitely try it. Ballroom dancing is a lot of fun. Um...Western Dancing. Is that line dancing? -Jufi
It wasn't line dancing, Julie. Back in the 1960's Western style Square Dancing was the in thing in rural New England. Best to you. Frederick
